“There comes a time where you rectify who you are with who you want to be with…”
The Mix N Mash tour, featuring Parkway Drive, is about to start making its way through to New South Wales. What you should know, however, is that there is only one band on that bill worth your time, money, effort and support. They are The Wonder Years. They’re one of my favourite bands, having refuelled my love of pop-punk with a vengeance with last year’s The Upsides. If the stuff I’ve heard is anything to go by, they’re going to do it all again with Suburbia I’ve Given You All and Now I’m Nothing.
Don’t Let Me Cave In is a simple montage, but a very effective one. Taking shots from the band’s tour with Four Year Strong, both onstage and off, it works in presenting a snapshot of the band’s life on the road. They’re the kind of band who are touring most of the year, playing hundreds upon hundreds of shows purely because it’s what they love doing. Really, are any of us in any position to argue with that? A great song with a great insight into the modern working band. All the effort is worth it. Go and see them this week. You won’t regret it.
